Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Midwifery, Health and Community Care (JMHCC) undergo a rigorous, transparent, and objective double-blind peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality scientific research. Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial office to determine its compliance with the journal's author guidelines, ethical standards, formatting requirements, and scope. Manuscripts that meet these initial criteria are then assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Associate Editor for their scientific relevance, originality, methodological soundness, and potential contribution to the fields of midwifery, women's health, maternal and child health, nursing, public health, and community care. Manuscripts that do not satisfy these preliminary requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or declined before entering the formal review stage.
Eligible manuscripts are subsequently assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant academic and professional expertise. JMHCC applies a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process to ensure fairness, impartiality, and the elimination of potential bias. Reviewers critically evaluate each manuscript based on its originality, scientific significance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, validity of data analysis, interpretation of findings, quality of references, and overall contribution to evidence-based healthcare and community development. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations intended to improve the scientific quality and clarity of the manuscript.
Based on the reviewers' evaluations, the editorial team makes one of the following editorial decisions: accept without revision, minor revision, major revision, or reject. Authors receiving revision requests are expected to submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed response addressing each reviewer comment within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. The final publication decision rests solely with the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the revisions, and the journal's editorial standards. Throughout the review and publication process, JMHCC adheres to internationally recognized principles of publication ethics, confidentiality, transparency, academic integrity, and editorial independence, ensuring that all published articles contribute reliable, ethical, and high-quality scientific evidence to the global healthcare community.
